25th November – Status Update

Just to let you guys know what’s been happening.

There’ll be no more of the daily updates for a while, mainly because I’m not doing anything particularly interesting on a near-daily basis at the moment.  I’ve got a job doing some writing, and I’m cleaning for my rent at the caravan park which means I’m going to be staying in one place for a while.

Heath has been teaching me to clean at the caravan park – first the amenities, then the rooms.  The amenities are pretty basic – lots of bleach and detergent and a quick mop – but the rooms are a little more complicated because there’s a lot of things you have to check.  Sue (the lady in charge of the caravan park) helpfully gave me a printed list so I don’t have to worry about remembering it all.

Heath cleaned one room to show me, then I cleaned a room under his supervision, then we split up to clean the last two rooms and he said he’d check my work when I was done.  Hearing that always makes you a bit nervous, but he said it was a good job and I did it very quickly, so that’s nice.  Sue says I’m doing a good job, too – in fact, today she said she wished I was staying longer!

Nipper’s doing much better too – here’s a picture of his wound:

Still looks sore and nasty, but it’s stopped leaking everywhere and is starting to close up nicely.  My knee is much better, too:

I had to put a pad on it for a long time, just because it was leaking fluid for days.  But now it’s at the stage where I can leave it exposed, and parts of the scab are already flaking off with new, pink skin underneath.  The hand isn’t even worth taking a picture of – it closed up days ago.  There’s still a few layers of skin missing, but it’s not tender or anything.

I’ll post when I next have something interesting to report, but for now, here’s a picture of the moon through the trees that I snapped late at night, on the way to the toilet:

I just liked the eerie look of it.  I wasn’t sure how it would turn out, but I think it came out quite well – the moon, the trees, the wisps of cloud below…
