Aunty Sandy and I went out to the farm for two days straight to work with the horses under the guidance of Taphyl (pronounced ‘Taff-ell’).
The horses:

Flash. He’s a bit nervous and flighty, so Taphyl is working on calming him down.

Missy. She gets cranky, and needs to relax more.

Nipper. Very relaxed and calm about everything, but he never wants to move.
I learned a lot about natural horsemanship, and got to go for a nice ride on the farm. I was on Nipper, Aunty Sandy on Missy, and Taphyl on Flash.
You won’t get any photos of us in action – I was too busy to think about the camera. I did get some images of the wildlife around the farm, though.
Eastern Long-necked turtle:

A family of Australian wood ducks:

17 ducklings – pretty respectable, huh? I took a video as well:
On the second day, on the way to the farm, Aunty Sandy and I stumbled across something rather unusual. A cow had just given birth to twins, but one was on the other side of the fence, beside the road.
I got a video – you can see the cow eating the placenta, and while one calf is finding its feet beside her, the other one is struggling to get through the fence:
Eventually, Aunty Sandy got out of the truck and pushed it through the fence:
Bizarre, huh? She must have given birth right up against the wire, at least for the second one.
LOL – Sandy doing heroic work, but looking a bit furtive as she scurries away 🙂

She was worried the cow might not like her messing with the calf and might try to charge the fence – hence, the quick skedaddle once the job was done.
