9th October – Rest Day

Not much to write of, today – I dropped in on the tourist information centre to plan out my stay.

I picked up a few brochures and looked up when certain museums are open.  Then I headed back to Turtle Shell for some lunch and relaxation.

I had afternoon tea with some other residents of the caravan park.  Cec is a retired trucker who now works at the caravan site, and Brian and John are working on constructing a wind farm in the nearby area.

There’s an aviary in this park, a big one just in front of the toilet/laundry block.

There’s quite a few birds in it, and I took some videos to show you guys.  First up, the quails:

Red-rumped parrots:

A canary (plus another parrot):

And finally, the fan-tailed dove:

Don’t worry, it’s not having a fit.  I think that’s meant to be some kind of display.
