7th October – Grafton

Today I did my laundry and took a look at Grafton’s cathedral.

My bedsheets were due for a wash as well, so everything’s very clean now.

The cathedral itself is a heritage site – apparently it’s been here since 1884.

They had a nice little fountain just out the front as well:

And a garden down the side:

I didn’t linger too long – it was too hot and sunny for that.  But I took photos of some of the flowers:

The interior was lovely (and I’m not just saying that because it was air-conditioned):

Their stained-glass windows were gorgeous!  I’d obviously come at the right time, as the sunlight was making some of them practically glow:

I had a walk along the streets as well – the jacarandas were just starting to bloom:

I also found this enormous tree:

Then it was time to go back and sort out my laundry.  It had all dried nicely on the line – it was very hot and sunny here.  And I finally swapped out my winter and summer clothes.  Don’t get me wrong, I’ve been wearing the loose long pants, and I’m retaining two jumpers just in case, but the rest has been packed away underneath the bed.
