It was sad saying goodbye to everyone (but Mum and Dad are joining me in Stanthorpe in a few days, so it’s not the real goodbye yet). Before I left, Mum gave me a plastic cereal container full of laundry powder – it doesn’t really fit in the caravan, so I’ve put in the car alongside all my travel books.
I arrived at the Blue Topaz Caravan Park late in the afternoon, and I had some problems hooking up the power, but it was sorted out eventually. With my fridge running, I bought milk from the little shop at the park reception. This was the first time I’ve hooked up my caravan’s water, and it was good to wash up with hot water rather than cold – it’s really just easier to clean dishes in warm water. I suppose that’s why soaking dishes in hot water can help with stains.
I also set up the awning for the very first time – as you can see below.
